JPML Denies Motion to Vacate Transfer of Case to Camp Lejeune Water Contamination Coordinated Docket

WASHINGTON, D.C. –– The U.S. Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation has denied a motion to vacate a transfer order, ruling that a case involving allegations of water contamination at the U.S. Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune belongs in the national coordinated docket.
In the Feb. 4 order, the JPML also rejected the plaintiffs’ insistence that their attempt to advance a unique legal theory with respect to the North Carolina statute of repose does not preclude them from taking part in pretrial proceedings in the MDL docket.
