National Coordinated MDL Docket Created for Capital One Data Breach Cases

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation has created a national coordinated multidistrict litigation docket for claims filed against Capital One in connection with a data breach that affected more than 100 million people.
In an Oct. 2 order, the panel explained that all of the parties generally support such an order. However, plaintiffs in one potential tag-along action opposed inclusion of their case in centralized proceedings.
