Plaintiffs Seek Creation of MDL Docket for Sensipar Antitrust Cases

WASHINGTON, D.C. –– A petition filed with the JPML seeks the creation of a multidistrict litigation docket for antitrust lawsuits relating to Sensipar, in which the plaintiffs have argued that Amgen entered a confidential agreement with defendant Teva Pharmaceuticals under which the company said it would stop selling its generic version of the drug.

As such, the plaintiffs said, “Amgen’s quickly-reached deal with Teva reestablished and maintained Amgen’s brand monopoly.”

According to the April 10 petition filed with the U.S. Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation, the underlying actions involve an alleged anticompetitive scheme “to restrain competition in the market …
