WASHINGTON, D.C. — A judge in the U.S. District Court of Southern Florida has been assigned to preside over all pending and future lawsuits filed against the maker of hair care products that were advertised as promoting stability and growth, but instead allegedly caused consumers to lose their hair.
The Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation said in a June 6 order that since no party opposed centralization of the class actions pending in four different federal districts, and because the cases all include common issues of fact, pre-trial centralization of the cases before a single judge is warranted.
