Plaintiffs Seek Centralization of Lawsuits Involving Apple iPhone Battery Issues

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Plaintiffs who sued Apple Inc. in federal court claiming that the tech giant released an update in early 2017 that reduced the performance of their iPhones have filed a motion requesting that the cases be consolidated before a single judge.
According to a Dec. 29 motion filed with the U.S. Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation, there are nearly two dozen class action lawsuits pending against Apple in federal courts throughout the country, making centralization in a federal multidistrict litigation docket appropriate.
