New Class Actions Target Weyerhaeuser Formaldehyde-Coated Lumber

MINNEAPOLIS — Several class actions have been filed recently in several states by plaintiffs who claim that their residences have been rendered uninhabitable by toxic gases that are being emitted from formaldehyde-coated lumber joists used to build their homes.

In the most recent suit filed Aug. 11 in U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota, a Minnesota family alleges that they were forced to immediately relocate after receiving notice that their home contained the defective joists, which are manufactured by Weyerhaeuser Co.
