Talcum Powder PSC Seeks Clarity on Defense Request for Dispositive Motion Extension

TRENTON, N.J. –– The Plaintiffs’ Steering Committee in the talcum powder multidistrict litigation docket has requested clarity from the federal court on whether it intends to allow the defendants extra time to file dispositive motions, saying that if such an extension is allowed, it will subsequently need extra time to identify potential bellwether trial cases.

In a letter sent to the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey on July 31, the Plaintiffs’ Steering Committee maintained that the court has made clear that it would not entertain requests for extensions when it came to current briefing deadlines.
