N.J. Bankruptcy Judge Stays Commencement of Most Talcum Powder Trials for 60 Days




TRENTON, N.J. –– The bankruptcy judge overseeing LTL Management LLC’s second Chapter 11 petition has issued a “limited” preliminary injunction that stays commencement of trials in talcum powder litigation against the protected debtors until June 15, according to a ruling from the bench today.

In an April 20 ruling from the bench, Hon. Michael B. Kaplan of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Jersey explained he has “more questions than answers” as to whether LTL Management is in financial distress and whether a reorganization would be successful.
