Atlanta Judge Declares Judicial Emergency in Response to COVID-19 Outbreak; Suspends All Deadlines

ATLANTA –– The Atlanta Judicial Circuit has declared the existence of a Judicial Emergency in the Atlanta Judicial Circuit, saying that the continued transmission of Coronavirus/COVID-19 throughout the county warrants such a declaration.

In the March 12 order, the Hon. Christopher S. Brasher, Chief Judge of the Fulton County Superior Court and the Atlanta Judicial Circuit in Georgia, cited the “potential infection of those who are required to appear in our courts and interact with large groups due to jury service, including grand jury service, or other large, non-essential calendars.”
