Talcum Powder PSC Files Baby Powder Recall Documentation with MDL Court

NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. –– The FDA has made public the Certificate of Analysis and supporting documentation for the Johnson & Johnson’s Baby Powder sample that tested positive for chrysotile asbestos, according to a recent letter sent to the federal judge overseeing the talcum powder multidistrict litigation docket.

In the Oct. 29 letter sent to the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, the PSC noted that, in addition to asbestos, the sample contained talc fibers or fibrous talc, “another human carcinogen according to IARC.”
