Imerys Talc America Files for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy, Cites Pending Personal Injury Suits

WILMINGTON, Del. –– Imerys Talc America has filed a petition for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, estimating its number of creditors between 10,000 and 25,000 and its estimated liabilities to be between $50 million and $100 million.

The Feb. 13 voluntary petition for non-individuals filing for bankruptcy filed in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware stated the debtor’s name as Imerys Talc America Inc., and listed other names debtor has used in the last eight years as Luzenac America Inc., Imerys Talc Ohio Inc., and Imerys Talc Delaware Inc.
