FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. –– Defendants named in a Florida state court talcum powder action have filed a motion to compel overdue discovery responses from the plaintiffs, arguing that more than four months has passed since written discovery was served.

In a Jan. 8 motion to compel filed in the Florida 17th Judicial Circuit Court for Broward County, defendants Johnson & Johnson and Johnson & Johnson Consumer Inc. maintained that the plaintiffs’ refusal to respond to the discovery requests has “prejudice [the defendants] in their ability to collect relevant documents, learn of possible witnesses, and prepare their defense in this case.”
