JACKSON, Miss. –– A Mississippi court has denied a summary judgment motion filed by Johnson & Johnson defendants in a talcum powder action brought by the state’s Attorney General, concluding that there were triable issues of material fact as to whether the defendants hid the risks of developing ovarian cancer from talcum powder use from Mississippi residents.

In Dec. 18 order, the Mississippi Chancery Court of the First Judicial District of Hinds County noted that discovery is ongoing in the case and expert discovery has not yet commenced.
