Imerys Talc Fights Plaintiff Motion for Jurisdictional Discovery in California, Says It Has Not Challenged Personal Jurisdiction

LOS ANGELES –– Imerys Talc America has filed an opposition brief to plaintiffs’ motion for jurisdictional discovery in the coordinated docket for California talcum powder claims, maintaining that it is not subject to such discovery since it has not challenged personal jurisdiction in the underlying proceedings.
In a Sept. 4 brief filed in the California Superior Court for Los Angeles County, the defendant maintained that the plaintiffs had failed to “articulate any sound basis for its request to serve jurisdictional discovery on Imerys, which has not challenged personal jurisdiction in this Court.”
