J&J Defendants File Reply Brief in Appeal of $55 Million Talcum Powder Verdict

ST. LOUIS –– Defendants contesting a $55 million talcum powder ovarian cancer have filed a brief refuting the plaintiffs’ position that the case should be remanded in order to try the case under the new jurisdiction standards, saying the appellate court has previously rejected that argument in another talcum powder appeal.

According to the defendants’ May 14 reply brief filed in the Missouri Eastern District Court of Appeals, the trial court erred in denying the post-trial motions, since there was no personal jurisdiction over the defendants in Missouri with regard to the plaintiffs’ claims.
