Missouri State Court Rejects Challenges to Jurisdiction, Joinder in Upcoming Trial




ST. LOUIS –– A Missouri state court has rejected renewed efforts by talcum powder defendants to dismiss 17 non-Missouri plaintiffs’ claims for lack of personal jurisdiction.

In May 15 docket entries, the Missouri Circuit Court for St. Louis City ordered that the defendants’ joint motion to stay, joint motion to sever plaintiffs’ claims for improper joinder, and motion to dismiss for lack of personal jurisdiction were all denied.

Trial in the underlying matter is scheduled to begin June 4; at that time, the claims of all 22 plaintiffs will be heard by a jury, sources told HarrisMartin.
