ORANGE, Fla. –– Imerys Talc America has sought to dismiss another Florida talcum powder lawsuit pending in state court, maintaining that the plaintiffs have failed to allege any facts sufficient to render the company at home in the state for jurisdictional purposes.
In the Feb. 26 motion, filed in the Florida 9th Judicial Circuit Court for Orange County, Imerys Talc America further argued that Florida’s long-arm statute also fails to confer jurisdiction.
The plaintiffs asserted the claims on behalf of Louise Crincoli, contending that her use of Baby Powder and Shower-to-Shower talcum powder products caused her to develop ovarian cancer. …
