Imerys Talc America Files Motion to Dismiss for Lack of Jurisdiction in Recently Filed Talcum Powder Case

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. –– Imerys Talc America Inc. has filed a motion to dismiss for lack of personal jurisdiction, maintaining that the complaint “fails to allege any facts sufficient to render Imerys at home in Florida in order to support the exercise of general jurisdiction.”

In the Jan. 31 motion, filed in the Florida 17th Judicial Circuit Court for Broward County, Imerys further argued that the underlying claims do not arise from, or relate to, any in-state activities of the company.
