Imerys Talc America Challenges Jurisdiction in Newly Filed Talcum Powder Action

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. –– Imerys Talc America Inc. has filed a motion to dismiss for lack of personal jurisdiction in a talcum powder lawsuit filed late last year, maintaining that the plaintiff has failed to establish specific or general jurisdiction.

In the Dec. 22 motion filed in the Florida 17th Judicial Circuit for Broward County, Imerys Talc America argued that it has not mined, manufactured, sold, or distributed the talc at issue in the case within, to, or from Florida.
