TRENTON, N.J. –– Plaintiffs’ counsel in the talcum powder national multidistrict litigation docket is apologizing to the MDL judge overseeing the claims, saying that its suggestion that a special discovery master should be female was not intended to cause offense.
However, in a recent letter apologizing to MDL Judge Freda L. Wolfson of the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, counsel for the plaintiffs still expressed concern over the appointment of Hon. Joel Pisano (Ret.) to the position, noting his firm’s affiliation with pharmaceutical manufacturers.
