La. Court Set to Weigh in on Challenges to Personal Jurisdiction in Talcum Powder Case

LAFAYETTE, La. –– A Louisiana federal court has scheduled an oral argument setting on a defense motion to dismiss a talcum powder suit for lack of general personal jurisdiction, two days after it referred the motion to a magistrate judge for a report and recommendation.
In a March 15 notice, the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Louisiana scheduled oral argument for May 17 at 10:00 a.m. Magistrate Judge Carol B. Whitehurst will consider the motion; the dispute was referred to Judge Whitehurst for a report and recommendation two days earlier.
