ST. LOUIS –– Imerys Talc America has opposed plaintiff efforts to stay proceedings in two recently removed talcum powder cases, maintaining that the personal jurisdiction analysis is straightforward, and the court should analyze that issue before addressing subject matter jurisdiction.
Plaintiffs had moved to stay the proceedings in Feb. 16 motions, asking the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri to decline to weigh in on the defendants’ jurisdictional challenges until it has an opportunity to assess the plaintiffs’ motion to remand.
