Jury Panel Chosen for Talc Trial Dismissed After Attorney Falls Ill; Second Voir Dire Underway




ST. LOUIS – The initial jury chosen for the fourth talcum powder trial to begin in Missouri state court has been dismissed after one of the attorneys involved in the case became ill during opening arguments, according to the court’s online docket.

In a Feb. 6 docket entry, the Missouri 22nd Judicial Circuit Court for St. Louis City stated that a jury was sworn to hear the case and opening statement on behalf of the plaintiff began but not concluded; a recess was called and “due to medical reasons of Attorney Allen Smith, Court hereby quash jury panel and orders …
