Johnson & Johnson Files Status Report in MDL Docket, Requests ‘Science Day’ to Address Causation in Talc Cases

TRENTON, N.J. –– Johnson & Johnson and Johnson & Johnson Consumer Companies have filed an initial status report in the national multidistrict litigation docket, asking the MDL Court to immediately address the threshold issue of whether perineal exposure to talc can cause ovarian cancer.

In their Nov. 10 initial status report filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, the Johnson & Johnson defendants additionally urged the MDL Court to promptly choose a selection of a set of individual claims for “case-specific fact and expert discovery sufficient to tee up Daubert motions.”
