Mo. Court Denies Defense Motion for Mistrial in Ongoing Talcum Powder Trial

ST. LOUIS –– The Missouri state court overseeing what is the third talcum powder trial in the state has denied renewed defense efforts for a mistrial and to transfer venue, according to the court’s online docket.
On Oct. 13, the Missouri Circuit Court for St. Louis City entered an order denying the defendants’ renewed motion for a mistrial and to transfer venue, one week after the defendants had requested such relief.
Opening statements in the case were heard Oct. 4; as of Oct. 12, plaintiff Deborah Giannecchinni was still presenting her case to a panel of 12 jurors.
