EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. –– A new talcum powder lawsuit has been filed in Illinois federal court against Johnson & Johnson and Johnson & Johnson Consumer Companies, saying the defendants had a duty to know and warn about the hazards associated with the use of the products.

Plaintiff Tanashiska Lumas filed the underlying complaint in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Illinois on July 1.

In it, Lumas said that her “regular and prolonged exposure to talcum powder” contained in Baby Powder and Shower-to-Shower caused her to develop ovarian cancer.
