Parties in Maryland Talc Case Exchange Briefing on Fraud, Conspiracy Claims

BALTIMORE – A plaintiff asserting talc-based powder exposure claims in a Maryland federal court has backed her fraud and conspiracy claims, maintaining that the defendants actively concealed knowledge from the consumers of its products.

In the May 9 response filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland, the plaintiff said that her complaint complies with the heightened pleading standard required of fraud claims.

Plaintiff Norma Slampa filed the complaint in March, contending that her State IV ovarian cancer was caused by using Johnson & Johnson’s Baby Powder.
