Johnson & Johnson Defendants Remove Talc-Based Powder Exposure Suit, Asks Court to Dismiss Non-Missouri Plaintiffs

ST. LOUIS –– The Johnson & Johnson companies named in a multi-plaintiff talc-based powder exposure lawsuit have removed the complaint to federal court, saying that the court should first dismiss the non-Missouri residents from the suit, thereby creating complete diversity.

Johnson & Johnson and Johnson & Johnson Consumer Inc. removed the case to the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri on May 20.

According to the removal notice, the lawsuit was filed by 80 unrelated plaintiffs from 31 different states, each contending that they developed ovarian cancer as a result of using talc-based powder products Baby Powder …
