Lumber Liquidators Urges Federal Judicial Panel to Send Flooring Lawsuits to Virginia

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Lumber Liquidators wants all federal lawsuits accusing the company of selling laminated flooring that emits unsafe levels of formaldehyde sent to a single judge in Virginia, according to a court document filed March 31.
In a brief filed with the Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation, the hardwood retailer argued that despite pleas from a majority of plaintiffs that the cases should be consolidated in California, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia is the most appropriate venue for a centralized docket, primarily because the company is headquartered there.
