Hotel Owner Ordered to Provide Documentation Supporting $2.7 Million Hail Damage Claim

HOUSTON — A Texas federal judge has ordered a hotel owner to produce documentation supporting its hailstorm damage claims or risk having its lawsuit dismissed, noting that the insurer has repeatedly requested the information, to no avail.

On March 24, Chief Judge Lee Rosenthal of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas briefly stayed the action pending the policyholder’s compliance with the insurer’s request for documents concerning its claim for an additional $2.7 million in damages.
