N.J. Federal Judge Awards Insurer Summary Judgment on Sandy Claims, Citing Settlements

TRENTON, N.J. — A New Jersey federal judge has awarded an insurer summary judgment on Superstorm Sandy claims, noting that the parties have voluntarily dismissed all of their outstanding claims with prejudice pursuant to a settlement agreement and two stipulations.
On Sept. 30, Judge Mary Cooper of the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey ruled that the agreements bar the plaintiffs from seeking additional funds under their flood policy.
