Insurers Settle N.J. Dispute Over Coverage for Superstorm Sandy-Damaged Coffee Beans

NEWARK, N.J. — Two insurers have settled a subrogation action seeking contribution for underlying litigation involving warehouse-stored coffee and cocoa beans damaged during Superstorm Sandy, according to a recent filing in a New Jersey federal court.
On Aug. 18, Judge Claire Cecchi of the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey dismissed the action without prejudice, explaining that the parties may reopen the case if the settlement is not consummated.
