NEWARK, N.J. — A New Jersey federal magistrate judge has allowed the plaintiff in a Superstorm Sandy coverage action to add his insurance broker as a defendant, ruling that the claims should be tried with those pending against the defendant insurer because they all arise from the same occurrence.
In a March 4 order, Magistrate Judge Mark Falk of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York found the insurer will not be prejudiced by the amendment, which will only cause a slight delay in resolving the action.
