Insured Seeking Coverage for Alleged Superstorm Sandy Damage Settles for $500

NEWARK, N.J. — A New Jersey federal judge has dismissed a Superstorm Sandy homeowners’ coverage action, which the parties have agreed to settle for $500, according to the court docket.
On Feb. 3, Judge Freda L. Wolfson of the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey explained that the parties may seek to reopen the action if the settlement is not consummated within 60 days. She added that the court will retain jurisdiction over the action “to the extent necessary to enforce the terms and conditions of any settlement entered into between the parties.”
