JERSEY CITY, N.J. — A New Jersey judge has refused to reconsider his dismissal of negligence and malpractice claims asserted against a broker in a Sandy coverage action, ruling there was no “special relationship” that would require broker to advise the policyholder to raise its coverage limits.
In a one-page order issued Jan. 22, Judge Francis B. Schultz of the Hudson County (N.J.) Superior Court declined to revisit his ruling that the broker did not breach its duty to the policyholder.
