NEW ORLEANS — A Louisiana federal judge has awarded an insurer summary judgment in a Hurricane Isaac coverage case, ruling that the plaintiffs have failed to establish a question of fact as to whether they have a valid insurance claim under the policy at issue.
In a Sept. 18 order, Judge Sara S. Vance of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana found because the policy does not provide third party liability or property coverage, plaintiffs have no valid insurance claim against the insurer.
