NEWARK, N.J. — A New Jersey federal judge has refused to allow plaintiffs to refile their previously dismissed-without-prejudice Superstorm Sandy coverage case, explaining that the one-year time limit for doing so has expired.

On July 31, Judge Michael A. Shipp of the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey found the insurer would be prejudiced in having to defend a case that was refiled after the statute of limitations expired and that the plaintiffs have not presented a valid reason for their delay.
