NEWARK, N.J. — A New Jersey federal judge has refused to reconsider his imposition of sanctions against plaintiff’s counsel for failing to timely respond to orders and requests made in a Superstorm Sandy insurance coverage case, ruling that the delays constituted inexcusable neglect.
On April 30, Senior Judge William H. Walls of the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey deemed meritless the law firm’s excuses as to why it failed to meet court-imposed deadlines and respond to allegations that the plaintiff’s insurance claim was fraudulent.
