JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A Florida couple seeking additional sums under their Standard Flood Insurance Policy for flood damage caused by Tropical Storm Debby have failed to show that a majority of the losses were covered under the policy, a federal judge has ruled.
On March 24, Judge Marcia M. Howard of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida explained that many of losses fell within the SFIP’s exclusion for “direct physical loss caused directly or indirectly by water, moisture, mildew, or mold damage . . . .”
