Insurer Named as Defendant in Superstorm Sandy Insurance Suit Can Amend Answers, Court Rules

MINEOLA, N.Y. –– A New York trial court has allowed an insurer named as a defendant in a Superstorm Sandy insurance lawsuit to amend its answers, saying that the changes will not prejudice the plaintiff.

In the Feb. 19 order, the New York Supreme Court for Nassau County also denied the plaintiff’s cross-motion for summary judgment, saying that the plaintiff had failed to prove that no questions of fact exist.
