TRENTON, N.J. — A New Jersey couple who sued their flood and homeowners insurers seeking full coverage of Superstorm Sandy damage cannot amend their lawsuit to name insurance and mortgage brokers as defendants in the lawsuit, a federal judge has ruled.
In a Nov. 26 opinion, U.S. Magistrate Judge Tonianne J. Bongiovanni denied the plaintiffs’ motion for leave to add the new allegations, determining that the proposed banking and housing claims were devoid of any details that could plausibly link the defendants to the alleged loss.
