N.J. Judge Says Fact Questions Preclude Ruling on Classification of Mobile Home-Trailer Damaged by Superstorm Sandy

TRENTON, N.J. — A flood insurer has been denied summary judgment in a dispute over coverage of Superstorm Sandy damage to a residential property that the insurer said was not considered an insurable building under the applicable policy.
Judge Michael A. Shipp of the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey said in a Dec. 3 order that fact questions remain over the classification of the home, which defendant Standard Fire Insurance Co. deemed a trailer in refusing coverage for the Sandy-related damage.
