TRENTON, N.J. — Three lawsuits accusing Narragansett Bay Insurance Co. of wrongfully refusing coverage for Superstorm Sandy wind damage claims have been dismissed outright by a judge in New Jersey after the plaintiffs ignored multiple court-ordered requests for information about their claims.
In a Sept. 30 order, Judge Joel A. Pisano of the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey adopted the recommendation of a federal magistrate judge who previously held that the plaintiffs’ willful, persistent inaction in the case warranted dismissal of the cases with prejudice.
