NEW YORK — A couple who sued their insurer for refusing to cover basement flood damage allegedly caused by Superstorm Sandy has been ordered by a federal judge to produce documentation supporting their demand for repayment of nearly $50,000 in premiums they claimed to have paid for policies dating back 20 years.
In a July 18 order granting Nationwide Mutual Fire Insurance Co.’s motion to compel production of the accounting information, Judge A. Kathleen Tomlinson of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York also denied the couple’s request to force the insurer to reveal specific data …
