NEW YORK — A couple who sued their insurer for refusing to cover basement flood damage allegedly caused by Superstorm Sandy has been ordered by a federal judge to produce documentation supporting their demand for repayment of nearly $50,000 in premiums they claimed to have paid for policies dating back 20 years.

In a July 18 order granting Nationwide Mutual Fire Insurance Co.’s motion to compel production of the accounting information, Judge A.
