NEW YORK — Great Northern Insurance Co. has appealed a recent federal court decision in which the insurer was awarded summary judgment on claims it owed coverage to a New York law firm for business losses related to Superstorm Sandy.
The appeal, which followed the law firm’s notice that it too would challenge the U.S. District Court’s decision, takes issue with an alternative holding by the trial court that would negate application of a flood exclusion in Great Northern’s policy should the determination of no coverage ultimately be overturned.
