Plaintiffs in Superstorm Sandy Litigation Seek Deposition of Insurers' Claims Adminstrators

NEW YORK — Counsel representing plaintiffs in the New York federal court Superstorm Sandy litigation have asked the presiding judges to allow parallel discovery of insurance carriers and third-party administrators they hire to evaluate flood claims.
The request was made in a June 9 letter filed in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York after counsel had requested limits on discovery sought by a law firm representing the write-your-own carriers and asked the court to require FEMA, as the party with ultimate settlement authority, to attend all mediations.
