NEW YORK — Certain Underwriters at Lloyd’s, London has contacted the three federal magistrate judges overseeing the Superstorm Sandy Insurance litigation in New York, requesting that a declaratory judgment action it filed be excepted from universal orders governing the docket.
In an April 23 letter, counsel for the excess carrier indicated the case it filed against The Historical Thatched Cottage in late 2013 involves issues that have little in common with others that have been designated In Re Sandy Litigation in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York.
