CAMDEN, N.J. — A federal judge has dismissed negligence claims brought against an insurance agent for allegedly misrepresenting that a flood policy it sold to New Jersey homeowners covered damage to contents located in their basement.
Judge Noel L. Hillman of the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey granted a motion to dismiss the claims March 25, determining that the plaintiffs failed to file a mandatory affidavit of merit in support of professional liability claims asserted in their August 2012 lawsuit.
