MINEOLA, N.Y. — A New York state court judge has denied a motion for summary judgment in a dispute over coverage for roof damage that an insurer insisted was not caused by Superstorm Sandy, but resulted from deterioration and poor maintenance by the building’s owner.
Justice Thomas Feinman of the Nassau County Supreme Court entered the ruling Jan. 30, denying Dongbu Insurance Co.’s motion without prejudice because the plaintiff had not been given a reasonable opportunity to conduct discovery of relative information that remains within Dongbu’s possession.
