NEW YORK — A federal judge in New York has denied opposing motions for summary judgment in a dispute over insurance coverage for more than 300 new vehicles that were totaled by floodwaters from Superstorm Sandy.
Judge Ronnie Abrams of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York issued the ruling Jan. 9, refusing to determine at this point in the litigation whether Maiden Specialty Insurance Co. correctly applied a $2,500 per-vehicle deductible to claims filed by automotive dealer Giuffre Hyundai following the storm.
